What type of engines do you rebuild?
Here are Rosier Racing we rebuild any type of engine. We specialise in Lotus, Porsche, BMW and mini engines but are happy to take on any road, race or rally project.
-
How do you repair Porsche Bore-scoring?
There are two main options when it comes to repairing the common Porsche bore-scoring. The two main methods we use at Rosier Racing are to either completely remove the cylinder and replace with a Nikasil coated liner, or to bore out the original bore to fit a cast iron sleeve. Both methods can be standard bore size or oversized depending on customer requirements. We typically use Mahle Motorsport pistons as we have tried and tested these for years with great reliability.

I want to gain power, can you help?
Of course we can! If you know the route you wish to go down we can find the power you desire... alternatively if you aren't sure where to start then give us a call and we can help hit the power figure you require.
-
How often should I rebuild my race engine?
How long is a piece of string... how highly strung the engine is, and how frequently you use, service and maintain it will all contribute towards how often it should be rebuilt. As an example, a well maintained Lotus Elise 2ZZ engine will happily last a season of racing if the oil is regularly serviced. It really is more on a case by case basis, but please do get in touch and we can go over your specific requirements!

How does your track day car hire work?
The way we work our track day car hire packages is you place an order for your desired car in our shop, and then contact us to check availability on the date of your track day. We do not book the track day for you, this is done by you. You then confirm the date with us, book your track day and then we turn up on the date at your track with the car. All you need to bring is yourself and your driving license. We can provide helmets at no extra cost. Driver training is available at extra cost but please request this when you call about car availability.

What if I crash your track day car?
There are two options when booking a track day car hire. You can either let us know in advance and we can insure the car for you for your day, this normally costs around £100-150 and is insured by a third party. Alternatively if you want to risk it and not insure the car, you can sign one of our damage waivers. The total is dependant on the value of the vehicle. If you crash the car, we debit the full damage waiver amount, perform the repairs and then refund the difference. For example if the waiver is £2000 but the repairs costs £200, then you will be refunded the £1800 difference when repairs are complete. We do not make any money from damage waivers, we simply want the car back up and running as quickly as possible.
-
How much track time do I get with your car hire?
As much as you want! Is the simple answer. Obviously we cannot control red flags on the track day, but as long as it is green flag running you can be out in the car. The car will need short rest periods for fuelling and safety checks but otherwise, knock yourselves out.

Why are some tracks more expensive for track day hire?
Our cars are stored and maintained in a location in on the Cambridgeshire/Northamptonshire border. This is the most centralised location we can have the cars to offer the best prices for travel at the majority of tracks. The tracks that are far away from this location incur extra costs due to mileage from the workshop and potential overnight stay for our mechanics. We are working hard to expand our fleet in our Northern workshop to be able to reduce our prices on the Northern circuits.
